Privacy Policy

The short version

• We use your location only while you are measuring a throw, and we store the distance, not where you were.
• Your username and your daily game distances are public on the leaderboards. Nothing else about you is.
• No ads, no ad tracking, and we never sell your data.
• You can delete your account, and your data with it, from inside the app.

What we collect

Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive an account identifier, your email address and, if you share it, your name. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only see the private relay address.

Your location, only while measuring

Measure Your Distance uses your phone's GPS from the moment you tap START until you tap STOP, to work out how far you threw. The app does not use your location at any other time, does not track you in the background, and does not store your coordinates. Only the resulting distance is saved.

Your throws and your game

For each measured throw we store the distance, the roast you got, and whether it was a personal best. We also keep your personal best, your throw count, your unit setting (feet or meters) and the distance you guessed during onboarding. For the daily game we store your username, your throw each day (the settings you chose, like aim, angle and power, and the distance it scored) so the leaderboards and replays work, and your streak.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google. We never see your card details. We receive the status of your subscription (for example active, renewing or expired) so the app knows what you have access to.

Usage information

We collect basic product analytics, such as which screens are opened and whether a throw was measured, plus your device type and app version, so we can find bugs and improve the app. This is not used for advertising.

What is public

The daily game has leaderboards. Your username, your daily distances, your rank, your streak and a replay of your throw can be seen by other players. Your email address, your name and your measured (GPS) throws are never shown to other players. Pick a username you are happy to be seen with.

The roasts

The roast after each measured throw is written by Google's Gemini AI. The request goes through our own server and contains only the facts about the throw, such as the distance, your personal best and your onboarding guess. It does not include your name, email or location. If the AI is slow, the app uses a prewritten line instead.

Who helps us run Disktance

We use a small number of service providers. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job:

• Supabase: sign-in, database and our server functions.
• Apple and Google: sign-in, app distribution and payments.
• RevenueCat: managing subscriptions across Apple and Google.
• Google Gemini: writing the roasts, from the throw facts only.
• Amplitude: product analytics.
• Vercel: hosting this website.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and there are no advertising or ad-tracking SDKs in the app.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we may send one a day when the new hole goes live, and a reminder about your streak. You can turn them off at any time in your phone's settings.

This website

This site has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no cookies of our own and no ad trackers. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run and protect the site.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings, which permanently removes your profile, your throws and your daily game history, including your username and your entries on the leaderboards. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel that in your App Store or Google Play settings. You can also ask us to delete your data, or for a copy of it, by emailing support@axiomtrinitylabs.com.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access to your records is restricted to your own account by database rules. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

Disktance is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to how it is used. Email support@axiomtrinitylabs.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Material changes will also be shown in the app.
